Best practices of Ecovillage Movement were discussed in the 4th Ecovillages project meeting

On the 12-14th of March “Ecovillages for sustainable rural development” project partners met in Lublin to discuss project progress, achievements and becoming activities. The main focus was put on the best practice examples of Ecovillage Movement, gathered by project partners from various ecovillages.

Project partners are working on selecting best practice examples from ecovillages, which later will be published in a toolkit and spread to the society as well as available on project website. One publication will include best practice examples for eco-technologies, another one will present social practices in ecovillages. At the moment 35 cases on social aspects including topics of common businesses and property, agreements’ system, cultural events, types of collaboration and conflict resolutions are gathered.

Later in the meeting days, study trip was organized, during which project participants visited Local Artistic Society (LAS) in Dabrowka ecovillage – one of the oldest ecovillages in Poland. LAS community was established in 1981, inspired by the idea of people and nature living together in a sustainable way.

Next project meeting is planned to be on the 11-13th of June in Riga.
